We had so much fun this morning welcoming the winners of the fire escape plan drawings! Congratulations to Giada W., Octavia W., Arya K., and Priscilla S. These students were awarded a surprise ride to school in the fire engine today and an Amazon gift card. Congrats to Mrs. Balestri, PCES Principal, who was recognized today as the Elementary Principal of the Year for the Starved Rock Region of the Illinois Principals Association! Great way Mrs. Ibarra got to know her story students at the beginning of the year with 4-5 things that they like and I stop by and read 1 or 2 when I'm in that hallway.

We celebrated kindness today. Every student caught doing an act of kindness, received a heart that went into a drawing. We drew two kindness hearts per grade level today. The high school cheerleaders even did a cheer for each student drawn.
